The Sciton ProFractional is the latest in laser technology, and Conway CosMedic is the first clinic in Conway to offer it. The real beauty of the ProFractional treatment is that is allows us to get more aggressive with less downtime, therefore providing superior results than previous laser treatments.
ProFractional improves the overall appearance of skin, and is used for the treatment of wrinkles, fine lines, scars, acne scars, age spots, and sun damage. Sciton MicroLaser Peel
For many years, the carbon dioxide laser (CO2) was a popular surgeon's tool for laser skin resurfacing, or peeling. Its use has been limited due to the risk of scarring and pigmentary changes resulting from the deep thermal damage (or heat build-up) produced in the skin. The introduction of the Erbium laser now allows the same type of excellent results but with much less risk of complications. The new Sciton MicroLaser Peel is a light to moderate peel that is ideal for wrinkles, sun-damage, and overall improvement of the skin's texture and tone. Conway CosMedic is one of the first centers in Central Arkansas to offer this treatment.
When the skin is treated with the Sciton Erbium laser, a clean, layer-by-layer vaporization of the skin occurs. The undesired skin literally evaporates due to the high water content of the epidermis. The laser is, therefore, best-suited for those skin conditions which are superficial in nature, such as fine lines and wrinkles, blotchiness (or dark and light patches), keratoses (pre-cancers), scaling, acne scarring, etc. The skin in these conditions is resurfaced or "rejuvenated" by the vaporizing action of the laser.
The procedure is quick and virtually pain-free. The initial healing process takes place over 2-7 days depending on the depth of the peel. The result is younger looking "new" skin. Because the Sciton Erbium laser is so precise, the risk of scarring or other complications (such as infection) is minimized. Also, it is typical for a patient to return to his or her regular work or social activities almost right away.

The SkinTyte treatment is based on the principle of selective thermolysis that utilizes Sciton’s BBL pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. A series of 3-4 skin tightening treatments spaced a month apart is typical of most patients. Our medical staff will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. The SkinTyte procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. The SkinTyte procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results may vary from patient to patient. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.
Wrinkle Correction
Wrinkles are visible creases in the skin. They are associated with aging changes in skin. Frequent exposure to sun results in premature skin wrinkling. Exposure to cigarette smoke is another major factor causing premature wrinkling of the skin.
There are two basic types of wrinkles: Dynamic wrinkles are caused by muscle movement (facial expressions). Static wrinkles are always visible and are caused by sun-exposure, smoking, aging, and environmental damage.
We utilize many treatments to aid in the restoration of the skin and the reduction of wrinkles. Botox® is the gold-standard for treating dynamic wrinkles. Results can often by very dramatic and be seen in as little as 3-4 days. Juvederm/Radiesse injections are fillers that give an almost instant result and can last up to 18 months. The Sciton MicroLaser Peel may be the most exciting treatment for long-term improvement of wrinkles and aged skin. As well, Conway CosMedic utilizes a wide variety of "no-downtime" lasers to help build collagen in the skin which is very effective in improving wrinkles.
ProFractional is a dramatic improvement over treatments such as Fraxel and Thermage. There is much less discomfort, it is less expensive, and offers superior results.
